Amherst, MA.-- The Merrimack College men's ice hockey team dropped the rubber match with the UMass Minutemen at the Mullins Center
on Friday night.

In the first period, Merrimack came up empty on their first powerplay of the evening, but the Minutemen would take a second immediately after the man advantage ended and the Warriors made them pay, as
Zach Bookman took the puck off the faceoff and his toss to the front was redirected in by
David Sacco to give the Warriors the lead. Nils Wallstrom made eight saves in the opening 20.
In the second, UMass found lightning in a bottle, scoring twice in under a minute to take the lead and hold it into the final period.
The Minutemen scored two more times in the third period, but the Warriors would get a late consolation goal as
Michael Emerson scored in the final seconds.

Seamus Powell extended his point streak to six games, and 11 points in his last ten games.

David Sacco's eighth goal of the season puts him in the team lead.

Michael Emerson had a goal and assist.

Zach Bookman also notched an assist.
