Women’s Volleyball Tripped Up Against Rider

Lawrenceville, New Jersey. –  Aubrey Baker led the Warriors with 8 kills on 16 attacks, but the Warriors ultimately fell to Rider in the match. 
 
Score: Merrimack: 0, Rider: 3
Records: Merrimack (5-11), (3-4), Rider (7-10), (5-2)
 
A back and forth first set saw multiple members of the Merrimack team contribute kills. Though the Broncos proved to be the stronger side in the first earning a 25-18 win. 
 
A few kills from Baker helped the Warriors cut into the lead the Broncos established early in the second. McKenna Shotwell contributed a kill and block assist which helped keep the Warriors within striking distance. Jocelyn Hammerstrand put up a block assist and a kill at the end of the set, but it wasn't enough as the Broncos took the second set.
 
Both sides would trade points to start the third. Sophia DeBonis recorded a service ace and two assists, but the Broncos ultimately pulled ahead and closed out the match. 
 
Stats and Facts Up Next
The Warriors stay on the road next weekend as they take on Marist University. Tip off against the Red Foxes is at 7pm.
