North Andover, Ma.-- The Merrimack College women's soccer team led the #24 Fairfield University Stags 1-0 until the 52nd minute in their season finale on Wednesday night at Martone-Mejail Field.

Merrimack executed the smash and grab start as
Ava Lovergine picked out
Kylie Fuller who placed her shot in the bottom right corner with the game only two minutes old. With the lead captured the Warriors were able to perform their defensive game plan, keeping Fairfield to the outside and
Kaitlyn Brewi made five to take the lead into the break.
In the second half, Fairfield scored twice in 10 minutes and would add a third in the late stages. Merrimack attempted to pull the game back in the final minutes, but their best chance just sailed wide as the game finished up.
