NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College Women's volleyball team is ready for another home doubleheader this weekend as they take on the Jaspers of Manhattan University and the Gaels of Iona University.
A Look Ahead:
Following an impression performance against conference leader Quinnipiac, the Warriors look to keep their win streak alive against the Jaspers of Manhattan. After a 3-0 and a 3-2 match wins last year, the Warriors are ready to add another to the tally. In last year's matchups
Mckenna Shotwell went off for a combined 30 kills. Setter's
Sophia DeBonis and
Lilly Konrad both added a grand total of 81 assists during the two matches.
Marissa Kobelski also had great showings against the Jaspers tallying 11 kills, six service aces, three solo blocks, and four block assists.
The Gaels and Warriors split their two game season series last year. In the first matchup, the Warriors emerged victorious, winning in a three-set sweep.
Morgan Thurlow led the way with 10 kills on 16 attacks while Shotwell and Kobelski each notched three service aces. In a 3-1 loss later in the season, it was Shotwell who emerged as the leader for the Warriors putting up a 15 kill and 10 dig double-double. Konrad put up just her third double-double effort of the season with a 17 assist and 12 dig line, while DeBonis followed with a 12 assist and 10 dig tally.
First serve against the Jaspers is at 5pm and against the Gaels is set for 3pm. Catch both of the matches on
