LOWELL, Mass.-- The Merrimack College men's ice hockey team dropped their opening contest of the 2025-26 season by a score of 4-0 to the UMass Lowell Riverhawks on Friday night at the Tsongas Arena.
Merrimack (0-1-0, 0-0-0): 0, UMass Lowell (1-0-0, 1-0-0 HEA): 4
In the first period, Lowell took the lead as they scored from the right circle for the lone goal of the opening 20 minutes.
In the second period Riverhawks tallied a shorthanded marker and they scored their third of the game just over two minutes later.
Lowell scored a powerplay goal, for their fourth of the night and final of the contest at 3:38 of the third period.
UP NEXT: The Warriors play an exhibition game with Sacred Heart in Fairfield on Saturday at 5:00PM, before beginning their home schedule in a rematch with UMass Lowell next Friday at Lawler Arena. Puck drop is at 6 PM.
