EAST MEADOW, NY – The Merrimack Men's Ice Hockey Team scored six times including four goals in the third period as they skated past the Long Island University Sharks by a score of 6-2 on Friday night.
Jack Richard returned to the lineup this evening and opened the scoring with his second of the season, both goals he's scored this year have been against LIU for the only goal of the period.
Long Island would open the scoring early in the second, but Merrimack took the lead back at the halfway mark as Austin Oravetz's blue line shot found twine for his first collegiate tally.
The Warriors turned up the heat with a four goal third period as Nick Pierre scored twice while Caden Cranston and Mark Hillier scored one a piece to salt the game away for the first Warrior road win of the season.
Max Lundgren won his fifth game of the season with a 23 save effort.
The Warriors come home for a midweek matinee with the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 2 PM on Wednesday afternoon.
