Merrimack Sees Five MAAC Teams Achieve a Perfect GSR

North Andover, Ma.— The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has placed in the top three nationally in the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Report with five Merrimack teams posting a perfect GSR of 100, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The five Merrimack teams to achieve a 100 rating are, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Softball, Women's Tennis, and Women's Volleyball.

"Achieving one of the top Graduation Success Rates in the nation reflects the unwavering commitment of the student-athletes, coaches, and academic support staff from throughout the MAAC," Merrimack Director of Athletics Joe Foley said. "We take tremendous pride here at Merrimack in seeing five of our programs post a perfect GSR. This recognition is a testament to the culture of excellence that Merrimack champions, on the field, in the classroom, and in the community."

The NCAA GSR report gives graduation information for students and student-athletes who entered college in 2018, the most recent class for which the required six years of information is available. It also breaks down the GSR by sport, using a four-year class average (2015-2018) called a cohort rate to provide a big enough sample. The GSR formula removes from the rate student-athletes who leave school while academically eligible and includes student-athletes who transfer to a school after initially enrolling elsewhere.
