Women's Basketball Heads to Chestnut Hill For Morning Matchup

Who to Watch

Senior sharpshooter Lydia Melaschenko kicked off her 2025 season with a career high 18 points. The guard led the Warriors last season with a .356 make percentage from behind the arc splashing 48 threes. Melaschenko finished 7th in the MAAC with that impressive three-point percentage. In the Warriors contest against High Point, Melaschenko erupted for 7 three pointers coming just shy of program history. The 21 points in the most in her career. In her last three games, Melaschenko is 11-20 from 3 point range and carries a 51% make percentage on the season from 3.

In her last four games, Mia Fiore has posted double figure point totals. The sophomore guard had a team leading performance against Northeastern where she posted 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. The Rhode Island Native leads the Warriors in minutes played with just over 30 minutes per game. Fiore exploded for a career high last Wedneday against Bryant where she posted 24 points shooting 10-14 (.714) from the field.

Junior Madison Roman is primed for another productive season for the Warriors. Named MAAC preseason all-conference second team, the forward averaged 8.7 pts and 8.7 rebounds per game last season. Her 269 rebounds last season put her 2nd in the conference. Roman's ability to score and play for possession is key for the Warriors success. She started her season with a 10 rebound, 9 point, and 5 assist line in just 17 minutes against UMass Boston. Roman tallied her first double-double of the season with 10 rebounds and 12 points two games ago against Northeastern. In the Warriors last game against Bryant, Roman tallied a career and team high 26 points, shooting 9-15 (.600) from the field. Roman came down with 10 rebounds to lengthen her double-double streak to two.

Home Sweet Home

The Warriors excelled at home in the 2024-2025 season. With a 10-3 record playing in North Andover, the Warriors saw three early non-conference victories that prepared the Warriors to be a force in the MAAC. The 10-3 home record was the third best in the conference, despite finishing 6th in the final standings.

#RollMack

The Warriors saw success in the playoffs last season with a big win over #3 seed Siena. In the 79-72 win over the Saints, Melaschenko and Garcia both put up 10+ points. With the MAAC playoffs set to take place in Atlantic City again in 2026, the Warriors look to shake it up again.

First Year Cooking

Joi Williams, who is the team's ONLY freshman has posted double-digit point totals in three of her first fouer collegiate games. The freshman out of Alliance, Ohio is nearly averaging 10 points per game coming off the bench. William's is coming off the best game of her young career against Northeastern where she drained 2-3 three pointers and posted 13 points.
