Kevair Kennedy scored 18 points in a homecoming at the Palestra, but the Merrimack men's basketball team lost to Penn 77-65 in the Cathedral Classic Friday.
Kennedy made 8-of-13 field goals as he scored in double-figures for the fifth-straight game and the sixth time in his seven career games.
Grad student Andrés Marrero scored 14, making two three-pointers and junior
Ernest Shelton, another Philly native, scored 12 points. Both Kennedy and Shelton played at Philly's Father Judge High School.
Sophomore
Tye Dorset had eight points and junior
KC Ugwuakazi added six for the Warriors.
Merrimack continues play in the Cathedral Classic, playing Hofstra on Saturday at 2 p.m., and faces La Salle on Sunday at noon.
