Warriors Open Season at Home Against Beacons

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College Women's Basketball team is back for the 2025-26 season. This Tuesday the Warriors open up their season against the Beacons of UMass Boston.

Junior Madison Roman was named to the MAAC Preseason all-conference second team, after averaging 8.7 pts and 8.7 rebounds per game last season. Roman led the team in rebounds and assists during the 2024-25 season as well. She finished 2^nd in the MAAC in total defensive rebounds with 269. Three point sharp-shooter Lydia Melaschenko is back in action for the Warriors. Last year she led the team in three pointers (48) and percentage from beyond the arc (.356). Melachenko finished 7^th in the conference in 3-point percentage. The Warriors excelled in the MAAC postseason in 2025 defeating #3 ranked Siena in the Quarterfinals to reach the Semifinals in their inaugural season in the league.
