NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The Merrimack women's volleyball team sent its seniors off in thrilling fashion on Senior Day with a hard-fought
3–2 victory over Saint Peter's (26–24, 22–25, 15–25, 25–15, 15–12).
Merrimack's veterans led the charge, showing poise and grit in front of the home crowd.
McKenna Shotwell powered the offense with
22 kills, while
Morgan Thurlow delivered one of her best all-around performances of the season, hitting
.579 with 13 kills and a team-high six block assists.
Aubrey Baker added 12 kills, and
Ella Gizmunt chipped in 11 more as the Warriors hit nearly .200 as a team.
Setter
Lilly Konrad directed the attack efficiently with
30 assists, while
Ella Maldonado anchored the defense with a team-high
19 digs. Merrimack closed strong, hitting .379 in the fourth set and .250 in the decisive fifth, rallying from a mid-match deficit to seal the win.
Merrimack will hit the road for the final weekend of the regular season starting at Canisius University on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and then at Niagara University on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
