Storrs, CT — The Merrimack College Men's Hockey team saw first career goals from Nathan King and Joey Henneberry, despite dropping a 5-2 contest to #14 Connecticut on Saturday evening.
Sophomore Nathan King started things for the Warriors 15 minutes into the first period netting a goal from the blue line. His first career goal was assisted by Joey Henneberry and Nolan Flamand. UConn got on the board late and the teams would end the period level at 1-1.
UConn tallied two goals in the second frame to go up 3-1.
After an early Huskie goal, Henneberry added on his second point of the game and career with a goal to cut the lead in half 4-2. Flamand got into the action again with his second assist of the day and Michael Emerson added the secondary assist. The Huskies would tally one more and end the game 5-2.
Goaltender Max Lundgren tallied 34 saves on the night, the most of his last five starts. Lundgren surpassed 400 saves on the season in the game.
The Warriors are back home next weekend for matchups against Yale on Friday (7:00 p.m.) and LIU on Saturday (6:00 p.m.).
