NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's basketball team snagged a home victory over Manhattan sealed by two free throw's by
Madison Roman in the closing seconds.

Merrimack came out firing on offense as they were hot from behind the arc to start.
Lydia Melaschenko canned three of her four three pointers in the opening minutes to give the Warriors an early advantage. Merrimack sank five three pointers in the first quarter, finishing the frame with a 21-18 lead. The second quarter saw the Jaspers shoot an outrageous 76%, giving them a 42-35 advantage going into halftime.
The efficient second quarter shooting and lead from Manhattan did not deter this Warrior bunch. The Jasper lead was stretched to as large as 13 points in the second half before Merrimack came storming back into it. The Warriors trailed by seven going into the final quarter, 59-52. The heat was turned up on both ends with Merrimack going on a 10-0 run to start the fourth started by a
Rose Caso three pointer. Another massive tray ball came from
Madison Roman down the stretch, giving Merrimack the lead at 67-64. Manhattan quickly tied it but in the final stages it was an offensive rebound leading to a foul that put
Madison Roman at the line to shoot two. She buried both and headlined a stop on the other end to secure the 71-69 win over the Jaspers.
