Storrs, CT- The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team's 2024-25 campaign came to a close this afternoon as they were defeated in the Hockey East Quarterfinals by a final score of 4-0 by the #1 seeded UConn Huskies on Saturday afternoon.
Merrimack (9-23-4): 0, UConn (22-11-2): 4
In the first period, UConn struck first just over five minutes into the contest, but the Warriors had their chances, their best was when a Merrimack shot got past the Huskie goaltender but bounced off the post.
In the second,
Margaux Favre made 16 saves and the Warriors had double digit shots of their own but the game remained at a 1-0 deficit for Merrimack.
In the third, Merrimack would continue the push to keep their season alive with 13 shots on goal, but to no avail as the Huskies would double their lead with 12 minutes to go, and they would score twice more to finish the contest.
