ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College baseball team snagged a win over the rival UMass Lowell Riverhawks in their first home midweek game of the year.

How it Happened
The Warriors busy week ahead started by playing host in a midweek contest for the first time all year as they welcomed in UMass Lowell.
Frankie Ferrentino got the scoring started with an RBI single to push in
Christian Scanlon in the first. UMass Lowell tallied a pair of runs in the third inning to take over the lead. From there, both pitching staffs held down the fort. For Merrimack,
Flynn Howard and
Samuel Franco pitched a combined four innings giving up just two hits. In the bottom of the seventh the Warriors bats came to life as
Christian Scanlon smacked a two-run homer to right to regain the lead.
Jayden Hamilton doubled to add an insurance score with
Brooks Craigue crossing home plate.
Owen Zadrozny,
Dawson Logie and
Michael Bradshaw would end up closing it out for Merrimack in the eighth and ninth to come away with the first midweek win of the season for the Warriors.
