LOWELL, Mass. – The Merrimack College baseball team crushed UMass Lowell in a seven-inning blowout victory of the rival Riverhawks on the road.

How it Happened
Merrimack pounced on the Riverhawks early in this one striking for eight runs in the top of the first. The party started with a
Christian Scanlon RBI single and then with the bases juiced
Harry Painter delivered a towering shot for a grand slam. The damage was not done with
Hayden Bond driving in a pair after that and subsequently scoring off of an error to go up 8-0.
Christian Scanlon added to his already great day with a second inning solo shot to put Merrimack up 9-0. The Riverhawks finally got on the scoreboard in their half of the second inning but
Frankie Ferrentino made sure to leave no doubt on a three-run homer in the third. The Warriors led 12-1 and would eventually close it out in seven innings off of another RBI from
Hayden Bond, taking down the host Riverhawks 13-3.
