Women’s Lacrosse Season Ends With Loss to Mount St. Mary’s

EMMITSBURG, Md.  – The Merrimack College women's lacrosse team dropped their final matchup of the 2025 season to Mount St. Mary's by a score of 18-5 on Saturday afternoon.

The Mountaineers opened with intensity, scoring 4 straight. Lindsay Atkinson caught the defense off guard to turn a caused turnover into points for the Warriors. The Mount scored two more times to go up 5 at the end of the first. Merrimack reset in the second quarter, scoring two straight. Brooke Brennan netted the Warrior's second goal of the afternoon, and just over a minute later, Sophia Ingenito scored her first collegiate goal to make it a 3 point game. The Mountaineers continued to put pressure on the Merrimack defense and would score four more times including one from free position to extend a seven point lead at the half. They would continue their monstrous scoring run in the third quarter, scoring five unanswered goals. Kaitlin Roche and Olivia Hall fired shots on net, but the Mount held strong. Halfway through the fourth quarter, the Warriors gained steam as Lindsay Atkinson scored off a winning draw. Atkinson added her third game of the afternoon to complete the hattrick with just over 5 minutes remaining. The Mount remained competitive, burying three more goals in the fourth quarter to win the game 18-5.
