HAMDEN, Conn. – The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team captured a thrilling overtime victory against Quinnipiac on the road to close out the regular season.

Rapid Recap
The Herod to Covey connection started early in this one as Merrimack scored the first goal of the game just under two minutes into it courtesy of the aforementioned pair. The Bobcats tied it up before back-to-back scores within thirty seconds from
Ryan Cowan and
Josh Younger. Merrimack added another goal in the end of the first quarter with just six seconds remaining coming from
Brendan Harty. The Warriors entered the second quarter leading 4-1. Quinnipiac scored the next two goals but it was Merrimack adding their fifth of the game to end the half and take a 5-3 advantage going into the break.
The start of the third was all Bobcats with Quinnipiac scoring the first three goals to open it up to grab their first lead of the game. However, Merrimack and
Brian Bouwman added the equalizer with under three minutes to go in the quarter to send the game into the fourth quarter knotted up at six. The teams traded goals in the early stages of the frame before a pair of goals for the Warriors from
Casey Herod and
Colin Kruger. Quinnipiac quickly responded with two scores of their own and it was once again tied. The final two minutes of regulation we're scoreless and forced the game into overtime. A monster save from
Anthony Kulturides gave the ball back to Merrimack and it ended up in the stick of
Brady Covey who fed
Casey Herod for the game winning goal.
