NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College athletics department announced the addition of the diving team to the women's swim program. The team will welcome in two divers to compete as a part of the inaugural season.

Erin Cammann. "It is the next step we need to continue the growth of our program. I feel extremely fortunate to have Coach Moon joining us, as he has a wealth of experience coaching at all levels of the sport. And I can't wait to see Kali and Sophia on the boards for us next year."
After over a decade as a program, the Merrimack women's swimming team brings diving into the fold. Hanul Moon will be tasked with guiding the diving team in their first season. Moon, who dove at Fordham and formerly coached at Bowdoin College. "I am honored for the opportunity to play a part in building the Merrimack College diving program, said Moon. Being a part of sports teams has shaped who I am today, and I am grateful to be able to share that with a new generation of divers. Diving is such a beautiful sport that requires a mastery of both body and mind. Merrimack College has no shortage of discipline, focus and dedication--the foundations of a great diver!" Moon also had coaching stints with St. John's Prep High School, Solo Aquatics and New York Dive Club.
The team will have a pair of divers joining the program for the 2025-2026 season. Sophia Ferrara of Methuen, Massachusetts and Kali Alexa of Tyngsborough, Massachusetts are the first pair of divers in program history. "I am so excited to have committed to Merrimack because they have given me the opportunity to combine my passion for diving at the division one level with my dream of pursuing nursing" said Ferrara. "I am so excited to start the dive program and can't wait to be part of such a fantastic team." Kali Alexa stated, "Chasing my dreams of becoming a college athlete, doing the sport I love with a new team of welcoming, encouraging and inspiring people! I cannot wait for this new journey and am so grateful to be part of the Merrimack Swim and Dive team!"
The swim and dive program will compete for the first time collectively in the 2025-2026 campaign. It will be the second season as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
