North Andover, Ma.- The Merrimack College Warriors women's soccer team shared the spoils with the University of Vermont as they played to 1-1 draw in their season opening game on a night where Merrimack head coach
Gabe Mejail was honored as he became the long tenured head coach in NCAA women's soccer history.

Merrimack (0-0-1), Vermont (0-0-1)
- Vermont was on the Warriors early as they peppered starting goaltender Kaitlyn Brewi with seven shots in the opening 10 minutes, but Merrimack would find the breakthrough first as Bella Keogh's long ball through the middle of the field would find Kyle Fuller who slotted home the shot for her first Warriors goal in her first start. Brewi would tally nine saves to keep the Warriors ahead in the first half.
- In the second half, Vermont would put the game back level with a first five minutes. The game would stay deadlocked from there as the Warriors weathered the chances from the Catamounts and Kaitlyn Brewi would make sure the game would stay even with a sprawling save on a one on one chance with the Vermont attacking forward. Vermont's final chance would sail out of play as the time wound down to triple zeros.

- Kaitlyn Brewi shattered her career high with 16 saves.
- Kylie Fuller scored the Warriors' first goal of the season.
- Bella Keogh was credited with the assist.
