Fairfield, C.T – In their first conference game of the 2025 season the Women's Volleyball team dropped three sets to the Stags of Fairfield to move to 2-7 on the season.

How It Happened
The Warriors kicked off 2025 conference action with a 4-0 run.
Sophia DeBonis fired two service aces that allowed them to get there. With a nice lead,
Mckenna Shotwell joined in on the fun adding a kill and a service ace. An 8-2 score was quickly eliminated by the Stags as they went on a 6-point run to tie it. A neck and neck game was broken when
Lilly Konrad tallied a service ace and two assists. The Stags made multiple attempts at retaking the lead, but
Ella Gizmunt shut it down with a kill and block assist. The Warrior effort wasn't enough as the Stags pulled away with a 7-1 run to take the first set 25-19.
Following a come from behind defeat in the first set, the Warriors looked to get on the right track. Kills from multiple different players helping keep the score tight as the Stags looked to build off of momentum. Shotwell fired two services aces and the Warriors took advantage of attack errors to get their lead out to three. The Stags went on attack while trailing and jumped out to a big lead. The Fairfield assault didn't stop as they pulled away with a 7-2 run to win the second set.
In the face of defeat, the Warriors kicked off the third set with help from
Mia Izzo who collected a block assist and a kill. The Stags once again took advantage of attack errors from the Warriors and retook the lead 10-7. In the attempt to take the lead back, Shotwell tallied two more kills. A heated race came to an end when the Stags went on a 5-0 run. A late push from the Warriors wasn't enough as the Stags eventually completed the sweep.
