Smithfield, RI – The Merrimack women's cross-country team began their 2025 season with a 4
th place finish in the 5000 meter race at Shawn Nassaney Invite at Bryant University held on Saturday morning.

How it Happened
Avaline Fihlman led the way for the Warriors on the day with an 11
th place finish and a time of 18:58.90,
Marianna Collins placed in 14
th with a time of 19:03.80,
Maci Chapman was the third highest Warrior finisher with a mark of 19:11.60 good for the 16
th position
Olivia Guckian finished in 27
th with a time of 19:41.70 and
Courtney Hinchion rounded out the top Warriors finishers with a 36 place finish, with a time of 20:02.70.

Chris Cameron: "We had some good individual performances today but our pack running wasn't quite where it needed to be. Our 1 - 5 and 1 - 7 splits were too far apart This is something we need to work hard on in the coming weeks to ensure a successful season."
The Warriors raced the 5,000 meter course against hosts Bryant, Rhode Island, Stonehill, Keene State, Wheaton, Johnson & Wales (R.I), RIC, and Franklin Pierce
