NORTH ANDOVER, MA - The Merrimack College men's basketball team defeated the Quinnipiac Bobcats this afternoon 83-71.
Kevair Kennedy scored 23 leading the Warriors to the victory.
The Warriors improve to 7-1 in the MAAC and are tied with St. Peter's in first-place, moving two games ahead of Quinnipiac (5-3)
Kennedy shot 50% from the field hitting seven shots. The freshman tallied eight rebounds and had seven assists. Kennedy's near triple-double was on a full 40-minute day. He has scored over 20 in four of his last seven games and has logged 40 minutes in four straight games.
Ernest Shelton hit five threes on the day bringing his total up to 17 points. His five rebound day marks a season high. Shelton also played the full 40 minutes.
Tye Dorset made four 3-pointers and scored 16. He tallied four rebounds and led the team in steals with three.
Forwards
Todd Brogna and
KC Ugwuakazi both scored 10 points in the win. Brogna had five rebounds and five assists while Ugwuakazi added on three blocks.
The Warriors get a day off before heading to Marist for a 2 p.m. tip-off on Monday.
