North Andover, MA-- The Merrimack Men's Hockey team returns home for two against Northeastern after the road game was switched to Lawler Arena from Harvard. Merrimack will be the designated home team for both games and both games will begin at 7 PM and can be seen on ESPN+.
Trevor Hoskin found the back of the net twice last weekend and in doing so he kept his point a game pace with 21 in 21 games played. Hoskin sits 7th in the conference in points and second in assists with 15.
With one game played over the weekend, Merrimack captain
Mark Hillier will reach 100 games played in his career. Mark is the lone player remaining from the team that reached the Hockey East Final and NCAA Tournament. In 99 games in his career thus far, he has 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) with 20 games played this season with 5 goals and one assist for 6 points.
With one win this weekend, head coach
Scott Borek will reach 100 wins in his Merrimack tenure. Coach Borek has guided the Warriors to five straight double-digit win seasons, four playoff appearances, one Hockey East Final, and a place in the 2023 NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament. Borek would also become the fifth coach in team history to win 100 or more games.
Goaltender
Max Lundgren was named as the team's one Hobey Baker award nominee on Wednesday afternoon. The Junior has started in every game for the Warrior's this season posting a 2.63 GAA and .918 save percentage. Lundgren was also reconigized a Richer Award watchlist member last week.
The Huskies snapped a five game losing streak last weekend with a sweep against New Hampshire winning by scores of 4-0 and 5-2.
These teams will face off for the first time since their double OT playoff game at Lawler last season, a 3-2 Huskies win.
Ty Daneault has had the most success against the Huskies with three goals and three assists for six points,
Caelan Fitzpatrick and
Caden Cranston also have four points each.
