Melaschenko’s Outstanding Week Capped Off By Player Of The Week Selection

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Women's basketball guard Lydia Melaschenko took home her first Player of the Week selection this year after an impressive week capped off by 16 3-pointers in just two games. She averaged 26 ppg, 8 3-pointers per game, and 5.5 rpg.

In the first game of the week Melaschenko led the Warriors to the season-series sweep over Saint Peter's, scoring 28 points. Melaschenko hit eight 3-pointers, the most in her career. The eight shots from beyond the arc is one shy of a program record that was set ten years ago. The Ottawa native tallied five rebounds in the full 40 minutes of play.

In the double-digit victory, and season-series sweep over Mount St. Mary's, Melaschenko closed in on program history, racking up eight 3-pointers. She added on six rebounds and a season high five assists.

Melaschenko and the Warriors look to keep things rolling this week as they welcome the Gaels of Iona University to Lawler Arena on Thursday. Tip off is set for 11 a.m.
