Women’s Hockey Ties Bemidji, Pushes To A Shootout

North Andover, MA—The Merrimack Women's Hockey team overturned two one-goal deficits as they pushed Bemidji State to a shootout after a 2-2 tie on Sunday night at Lawler Arena.

Bemidji scored the opening goal; however the Warriors would get back on level terms as Avery Anderson scored her fourth goal of the season on a shot that went in off the post with Maria Lindberg and Maddie Crowley-Cahill picking up the assists. The Beavers would score again to take the lead 2-1 into the first intermission.

Merrimack tied the score again as Maggie Kime's blue line toss would bank off McKenzie Cerrato in front, for her fourth goal of the season and her second point in as many games. Anderson also had an assist on the goal to take the team lead in points with 13.

After a scoreless third period and overtime, Bemidji would score the lone goal in the shootout.

Adreanna Doucette made 28 saves in the game for Merrimack.

The Warriors home stand continues as they re-enter conference play against the Vermont Catamounts on Friday night at 6 PM and Saturday at 2 PM.
