Women's Basketball Welcomes Marist To Lawler This Thursday At 7 P.M.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA - The Merrimack women's basketball team hosts Marist on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Lawler Arena.

Who to Watch

  • Madison Roman made it three straight games with a double-double in the teams last game against Saint Peters. Roman powered her way to a 21-point game with a season high 17 rebounds against the Peacocks. She had 12 points and 11 rebounds against Rider and she exploded for a 20-point and 14-rebound double double against Mount St. Mary's. The Connecticut native shattered her season high in steals tallying five. In November's matchup against Bryant, Madison Roman tallied a career-high 26 points, shooting 9-15 (.600) from the field. Roman came down with 10 rebounds for her second-straight double-double.
  • Lydia Melaschenko has hit 4 3-pointers in four of her last six games. Melaschenko electrified the Warriors seconds half domination with four three pointers in the win over Saint Peter's. Her 10 points at Rider marked her eighth double-figure scoring game of the season, and her fifth consecutive. Melaschenko hit 50% of her shots against Fairfield scoring 13. In the Warriors contest against High Point, Melaschenko erupted for seven 3-pointers coming just shy of the school record. The 21 points at High Point was her new career high. In her last five games, Melaschenko has made 19 three pointers.
  • In eight of her last nine games, Mia Fiore has posted double-figure point totals. Fiore posted 12 points in the teams MAAC opener against Fairfield. She finished just shy of a double-double against New Hampshire with nine rebounds to go with the 15 points. Through eight games, she is shooting just under 50 percent from the field. In the come-from-behind victory against Dartmouth, Fiore led the team with 16 points and shot over 50% from the field. Fiore had a career high against Bryant where she posted 24 points, shooting 10-14 (71%) from the field.

Happy Holidays Oralye!

Grad student Oralye Kiefer had set season highs in points in four-straight games getting up to 19 against Brown on Dec. 9. Keifer has been a force in the paint for the Warriors shooting just shy of 50% during the season. Kiefer has posted at least nine rebounds in three of her last five games. She has scored in double-figures in seven-straight games, after scoring 14 points in the win over St. Peter's. She scored 12 points against Rider and had tallied her first double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Mount St. Mary's. She averaged 13.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game in the month of December.

Heating Up

In her game against Rider, Paloma Garcia went off for a career-high 21 points, shooting 7-of-13 (54%) from the field. Garcia added on seven assists four steals against the Broncs. She has scored at least nine points in three of her last four games.
