North Andover, Ma-- The Merrimack Men's Hockey team opened 2026 with a 3-2 victory over the Brown University Bears, which is also their fourth win in a row. This is Merrimack's lone game of the weekend and their penultimate non-conference game as they have one more against Stonehill on February 3rd.

Justin Gill returned to the lineup in style as he scored the Warriors opening goal in the win against Brown. The freshman has had a stellar season thus far with 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 16 games played.

Trevor Hoskin had another assist in Merrimack's win against Brown last weekend, pushing his point streak to three with five points in that span. Hoskin, who is the lone Warrior over a point a game currently sits in a tie for first place in the conference for assists with 15, and six-way tie for third place in points in Hockey East as well as in the top 50 in points in the NCAA as a whole.

Nick Pierre scored his team leading tenth goal of the season to put his team ahead for good against Brown, Pierre has been the Warriors go to guy in the big spots this season as four of those goals have been game winning tallies which is second most in the NCAA. Also, with that goal he moves into a six-way tie for third place for goals scored by players in the Hockey East conference. This is his first double digit goal season in his career.

Ty Daneault also marked his return to the lineup with a bang as he forced a turnover at the line and streaked in for an unassisted breakaway goal. Daneault currently has six points in 12 games played and will look to provide a scoring spark in the second half of the season.

Merrimack has won 4 of the last five meetings with Holy Cross and are currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak (8-0-2) as the Warriors haven't been beaten by the Crusaders since October 24th 2006.
