Super Sub Cassidy Lifts Men's Soccer To Conference Win Over Rider

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- The Merrimack College men's soccer team won its first Metro Conference game of the season and made it four unbeaten with a 1-0 win over the Rider Broncs at Martone-Mejail Field on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first half, Merrimack was rewarded when Gabriele Catterina's cross found Keller Cassidy, who came off the bench to find the net in the 77th minute. It marked Cassidy's third goal of the season.

With the lead secured, the Warriors locked down the Broncs over the final minutes to capture the win.

Matteo Malaguti made four saves to capture his third clean sheet of the season.

The Warriors return to Martone-Mejail Field as they host Iona on Wednesday at 7 pm.
