LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — The Merrimack College field hockey team fell to the Rider Broncos Friday night on the road by a score of 3-2.
The Warriors headed into the second period down 1-0, until sophomore midfielder Gracie Lloyd registered her first career goal to equalize just one minute into the period. The Broncos would then take the lead with the lone goal in the third period to head into the fourth up 2-1. Senior back Darla Mahoney who leads the nation in defensive saves, tallied her first goal of the season to tie the game late in the fourth. The Warriors would then go on to concede a late goal, as the Broncos walked away with the victory.
The Warriors will have just a bit over a week to prepare for their next matchup, when on October 11th at 2pm they will hit the road to take on the Maine Black Bears.
