Men's Hockey Heads To Orono For Final Road Series Of Season Against Maine

NORTH ANDOVER, MA-- The Merrimack Men's Hockey team split with the Boston College Eagles with back to back 4-2 results last weekend. The Warriors now look to break a five game losing streak in their set with Maine as they sit in 6th in the standings with five games to go.

This weekend, the trio of Justin Gill, Nick Pierre and Parker Lalonde, hit ten goals or more this season and with that accomplishment, it's the first time Merrimack has had three underclassmen with double digit goals since 2014-15 when Brett Seney, Hampus Gustafsson and Jace Hennig all did so.

Max Lundgren won his 15th game of the season in the 4-2 victory over Boston College on Friday, and with that win, Max became the first Warrior goaltender to win 15 or more games since Joe Cannata did it in back to back years (2010-11, 2011-12) Max is the leader in minutes played this season (1728:49), saves made (823) and sits in 5th in Save Percentage (.919) and 7th in GAA (2.54)

Merrimack College men's hockey freshman forward Justin Gill was named as Hockey East Co-Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career on Monday. Justin is on a hot streak, as he has scored a goal in each of his last six games and he has at least one point in his last 11 games where he has 16 points in that span (eight goals and eight assists). Gill's 11 game point streak is the second longest in the nation currently and the long of the season in Hockey East. Justin is also the team's leading goal scorer and point leader with 13 and 28 respectively.

Junior defender Cam Kungle will reach 100 career games if he plays in both contests this weekend. Cam has 16 points in 98 games so far with six points in 29 games so far this year

Sophomore captain Caelan Fitzpatrick has had a very strong second half of the season thus far, with 12 of his 17 points coming after the holiday break scoring six goals and notching six assists, with two multi point games in this stretch including a three point night against Boston College last Friday.
