NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Individual accolades tend to follow team success.
The Merrimack women's basketball team now can reflect on the 2025-26 regular season having accomplished both.
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on Wednesday four players received recognition from their peers after an 18-win regular season. Merrimack finished third in the conference behind only regular-season champion Quinnipiac and nationally ranked Fairfield.
Merrimack junior forward
Madison Roman was recognized as a unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection. Roman, who finished with 17 double-doubles in 29 games, was one of three unanimous selections on the list, which also included Player of the Year Kaety L'Amoreaux (Fairfield). Roman averaged 13.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists this season. She led the conference in rebounds and rebounding average and ranked seventh in points per game.
Junior guard
Paloma Garcia, who averaged 2.68 steals per game, and forward
Oralye Kiefer, who ranked ninth in the country in blocks per game (2.41), both were named to the All-Defensive Team. Kiefer was a unanimous selection for the All-Defensive Team.
Senior sharpshooter
Lydia Melaschenko, who set the program record for most 3-pointers in a single season, was named a Third Team All-MAAC selection. Among those to play 10 or more games for the Warriors this season, Melaschenko averaged the second-most points.
Merrimack now shifts its sights to the postseason with the MAAC Women's Basketball Championships in Atlantic City. The third-seeded Warriors will face No. 6 Mount St. Mary's on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
