Women's Basketball Announces 12 Newcomers To 2026-27 Roster

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Missy Traversi and her newly-hired coaching staff have had a busy few months, but that's seemingly paid dividends as the Merrimack College women's basketball team officially has finalized its 14-player roster for the 2026-27 season.

With Traversi taking over at the helm in early April, the Warriors impressively sifted through the changing landscape in college basketball and signed 12 newcomers to complement their two returners (Joi Williams, Kristen Kelley). All told, Merrimack will be represented by six international players with three from Spain and one from each Australia, Hungary and Germany.

Here's a look at those who will be starting their next chapter with Merrimack women's basketball:

Naomi Wilson
Hometown: Baldivis, Australia
Year: Senior
Height: 6'3
"A transfer from Winthrop University and a native of Baldivis, Australia, Naomi brings a skilled and physical presence at 6'3. She adds an exciting style of play to our post unit, impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Her leadership, maturity, and experience will be invaluable." Hometown: Chicago, Illinois

Height: 5'5
"Olivia is a dynamic guard with a high basketball IQ and the ability to both score and facilitate. She excels in ball-screen actions and is an elite perimeter three-point shooting threat. Her experience in high-pressure moments, combined with her competitive edge, makes her a tremendous addition to our program." Hometown: Madrid, Spain
Year: Sophomore
Height: 6'1
"A transfer from Western Michigan and a native of Madrid, Spain, Emma is a skilled back-to-the-basket post player who can score inside, defend the paint, and rebound at a high level. Her size, experience, and versatility will be a welcome addition to our paint presence."

Claudia Marina
Hometown: Madrid, Spain
Year: Junior
Height: 5'11
" A transfer from Florida International University and a native of Madrid, Spain, Claudia is a versatile playmaker who can score at all three levels, create for others, and defend multiple positions. Her experience competing at both the Division I and international levels will bring immediate value to our team."

Jamie Kent
Hometown: Dublin, California
Year: Senior
Height: 6'
"Jamie is a tremendous addition to Merrimack women's basketball," Traversi said. "A transfer from New Hampshire and native of Dublin, California, she brings physicality and versatility to the forward position. She has the ability to take her defender from the pinch post as well as get offensive put-backs. She will dominate the glass, run the floor hard and set a great screen. As a senior, Jamie will provide experience and toughness to our lineup."
 
Samantha Grella
Hometown: Nutley, New Jersey
Year: Freshman
Height: 5'10
"Sam brings size and versatility to the guard position, along with the ability to consistently knock down shots and defend multiple positions. What stands out most is her competitive spirit and relentless work ethic. She embodies the type of toughness, character, and commitment that will make her a great fit for our program." "Claudia brings a unique combination of size, skill, and versatility to our roster. Her experience competing at a high level in Spain has prepared her to make an immediate impact, and we're excited to watch her grow into an elite two-way player in our program."
 
Mia Carmody 
Hometown: Voorheesville, New York
Year: Freshman
Height: 5'8
"Mia is an elite shooter with deep range who brings passion, confidence, and an unmatched work ethic to our program. Her ability to stretch the floor, combined with her team-first mentality, makes her a valuable asset on and off the court."
 
Kelsey Miller
Hometown: Chanhassen, Minnesota
Year: Sophomore
Height: 6'5
"Kelsey is a team player who gives us a strong presence in the paint with her size and rebounding ability. She knows what it takes to win coming off a conference championship at High Point University and that experience will help elevate our program."
 
Olivia Borsutzki
Hometown: Munich, Germany
Year: Junior
Height: 5'11
"Olivia has the ability to get to the rim off the bounce and consistently shoot the three. She brings international as well as Big East experience from her time overseas and at Xavier University. She will bring a resilient mindset and maturity to this new roster."
 
Csenge Szomszed
Hometown: Hort, Hungary
Year: Junior
Height: 6'2
"Csenge is a versatile post player with polished footwork and a strong all-around skill set. She scores efficiently both with her back to the basket and facing up. Her passing ability, along with her inside-out game, makes her a tough matchup for defenders." Hometown: Hanson, Massachusetts
