Keogh Sets Women's Soccer Program Record Vs. UMass Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. -- Bella Keogh scored twice and broke a Merrimack women's soccer program record for goals scored in Division I competition, a recorded previously owned by Ella Cormier, during the team's match against UMass Lowell on Sunday night.

Merrimack tied the game, 1-1, on Bella Keogh's tally in the 11th minute. Sophia Keogh earned the assist after she sent the ball across to Bella Keogh, who deflected at the back post. It was the 21st goal of Bella Keogh's career.

Lowell took a 3-1 lead at the half.

Bella Keogh made it a one-goal game with her strike in the 49th minute. The highlight-reel goal, the 22nd of her career, came after she danced past two defenders, cut back into the center of the field and bent a shot into the bottom left corner.

Lowell, however, scored twice more in the 57th and 62nd minutes to close the contest.

The Warriors travel to the University of Maine Black Bears on Thursday at 7 p.m.
