Late Rally Not Enough As Field Hockey Falls At Dartmouth

HANOVER, NH — The Merrimack field hockey team scored a pair of second-half goals, but ultimately suffered a 4-2 defeat at Dartmouth College on Friday afternoon.

"I'm proud of our team for coming out strong in the second half," Merrimack head coach Christina Hathaway said.

Merrimack junior Erin Cottam got the Warriors on the board, cutting their deficit to 3-1 early in the second half. Cottam's goal was assisted by Delaney Weiler. 

Cece Crosby then scored just three minutes later, cutting Merrimack's deficit to 3-2. Gianna Cioni was credited with the assist. 

Dartmouth regained a two-goal lead in the fourth period. 

Gracie Lloyd, Emma Wackowski and Darla Mahoney also played well for the Warriors. 

The Warriors return to action when they take a trip to nearby UMass Lowell on Sunday. Game is set for 1pm.
