SMITHFIELD, RI – The Merrimack men's cross-country team opened their 2026 season by participating in the Shawn Nassaney Meet on Saturday morning.

How it Happened
Aidan Dupill was the top finisher in the meet, finishing sixth with a time of 15:28.2,
Sean Moore finished 14th with a time of 15:48.8,
Ben Rich placed 17
th with a mark of 15:53.1,
Ben Smith and
Trainor Mailloux rounded out the top five finishers in 28
th and 30
th with times of 16:18.5 and 16:21.3.
From head coach
Chris Cameron: " The men had a decent first effort as a team. Our top 3 spread was okay for a first race but we'll need our 4, 5,6, and 7 runners to run closer to our 3rd runner if we want to do well as a team this season. This will be a major point of emphasis going forward."
The Warriors competed with Stonehill, Rhode Island and the hosts, Bryant.
