NORTH EASTON, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey team opens up Northeast Conference (NEC) play up against the Stonehill Skyhawks on Friday.
In the 2026 Preseason NEC Field Hockey Poll, the two squads were lined up right next to each other with sixth-place Stonehill a mere one spot ahead of seventh-place Merrimack. Both squads will be looking to snag their first win on the season when they meet up this week.
"We've put in the work, we're feeling strong and confident, and we're ready to bring our intensity and compete for every minute of this matchup," head coach Christina Hathaway said. "Stonehill is a great competitor, and we're excited for the challenge, the battle, and the opportunity to set the tone for conference play."
Junior forward Erin Cottam will be the key factor on the offensive end. Cottam was named to the weekly NEC Prime Performers list following her performance last week, after she tallied three points in two games.
Start time from North Easton is set for Friday at 3 p.m. ET, and you can watch it live on NEC Front Row.
