Women's Cross Country Sets PRs From UMass Dartmouth Invitational
NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA – The Merrimack women's cross country team participated in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.

How it happened:
Caroline White was the leading finisher for the Warriors on the day, coming in 21st place with a time of 22.12.03. Just two spots behind her in 23rd place, Avaline Fihlman came in with a time of 22.16.56. The third Warrior to finish was Maci Chapman with a time of 22.53 good for 52nd in the race, followed by Olivia Guckian in 61st place with a time of 23.10.55, and then Lily Thomas in 64th place with a time of 23.18.54. The women were able to come away with a 9th place finish in the Gold event.
From head coach Chris Cameron: " The women had some good individual performances but their team finish wasn't as high as expected. We saw a few PR's, highlighted by Kiley Halpin's almost 2:30 second PR in the Navy Race. Going forward, we'll need our 1 - 7 pack to run much tighter if we want to be successful. We have a good 2 week training block ahead of us to work on improving this.

The women's cross country will start training for their next invitational in just a couple of weeks when they head to Lehigh University for the Paul Short Invitational.
