Riverdale, NY- The Merrimack College women's volleyball team fell to Manhattan on Friday night in four sets, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17,25-21.
The Warriors were headlined by the pairing of sophomore opposite hitter Jocelyn Hammerstrand and freshman outside hitter Tami Afolalu. Hammerstrand, who has been such a consistent option for the Warriors all season was able to tally 13 kills on the night just one short of her career high. Afolalu was also able to pitch in 13 kills of her own, which is good enough for her new career high in her freshman campaign. Sophia Debonis was able to conduct the offense at a high clip, notching 31 assists on the night along with 6 kills.
The Warriors return to the court tomorrow to face Iona in New Rochelle, New York. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
