Merrimack Field Hockey Defeated By Bryant
SMITHFIELD, RI. -- The Merrimack field hockey team opened up the scoring, but ultimately the Bryant Bulldogs ran away with a 10-1 victory at Cowen Field on Friday afternoon.
Emily Beichert got the Warriors (0-2) on the board with a goal less than five minutes into the matchup. Beichert, who had two shots on goal in the game, now leads the Warriors with two goals on the young season.
Bryant tied the game at the end of the first quarter and scored three goals in each of the subsequent periods.
Kayla Whitters earned the start and made eight saves in net for the Warriors.
Audra Szymborski took over in the second half and made four saves of her own.
Merrimack field hockey returns to action when it travels to Holy Cross for a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon.
