After a very successful playing career with the Warriors, Casey Cotter finished up his third season as an assistant baseball coach on the staff of third-year head coach Nick Barese. 

Serving as Merrimack's primary first base coach and working directly with the program's hitters, Merrimack had another strong offensive season that saw the Warriors finish third in the NE10 with a .289 team average. Cotter also contributed to Merrimack's 29-win season in 2016, marking the program's second most victories. Offensively, the Warriors hit at a .295 clip, the program's best batting average since the 2001 season. 

Cotter arrived at Merrimack during the 2011-12 season after transferring from Dean College. Cotter played two years with the Warriors and certainly left his mark on the program. As a Junior he led the warriors with a .324 batting average in 2012 and as a senior, Cotter became only the second player in program history to be named Northeast-10 Player of the Year. He was also named to the NE-10 All-Conference First Team, America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-American Second Team and ABCA Daktronics/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-East Region First Teams.

In his final season with Merrimack, he hit above .400 for most of the year from the leadoff spot and started every game in the outfield. Cotter with a .390 average on a team-best 69 hits, scoring a team-high 49 runs in the process. He ranked second in doubles (11), second in triples (three) and tied fourth in RBI (23). His other statistical feats inclue 18 walks, striking out just 16 times in 177 at-bats and totaling 20 stolen bases. Cotter finishind his two-year career with 130 hits, 85 runs, 23 doubles, seven triples, 43 RBI and 29 walks during the span of 97 games, all over two seasons.

Cotter recently coached in the spring of 2014 with Seacoast United, an AAU program out of Hampton, NH. He currently resides in North Hampton, NH.
