Blaikie enters his sixth season on the Merrimack football staff and second season on the defensive line with Gee White. Since arriving at Merrimack in 2021 Blaikie has assisted in coaching the defensive line, running backs, offensive line and special teams. Blaikie’s unique coaching experience at Merrimack has given him the opportunity to coach premier talent all over the field, including pro signees DL Jason Compoh (CFL) & OT Cole Birdow (NFL). Blaikie also assisted in coaching Walter Camp FCS All-American’s Jermaine Corbett & Donovan Wadley.

Prior to Merrimack, Blaikie coached the defensive line at Framingham State University from 2018-2020. The defensive line unit produced multiple All-MASCAC players Eli Etienne, Joshua Smiley, and 2019 MASCAC DPOY & former Seattle Seahawks LB Joshua Onujiogu. During this period, the Rams lead the MASCAC in total defense and were 3x conference champs.

In 2017, Blaikie served as the Defensive Coordinator & Special Teams Coordinator at Pope John
High School (Everett, MA). From 2012-2016, Blaikie coached at Saint Clement High School. During this time, the Anchormen were 2x CCL Champs and EMASS Champs in 2012. Blaikie coached multiple scholarship athletes including former Miami Dolphin 2021 draft pick OT Larnel Coleman (UMASS), DB Ivan Mertilus (Assumption, Hula Bowl), WR Junior Oyaronbi (Assumption) and 2012 ESPN Boston All State selection Khaneil Bruce (New Haven).

Prior to coaching, Blaikie played one year of collegiate football in 2003. He led all Framingham State TE’s in receptions & yards. He also led the team in KOR average. In 2004, Blaikie enlisted in the USAF & served two tours in Iraq. After fulfilling his Active Duty service, Blaikie became a Boston Firefighter in 2010.


In 2025 Blaikie earned his MS in Exercise Science, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude from UMASS-Boston.
