Paul Blaikie

    Special Teams Analyst
Coach Blaikie enters his fourth season on the Merrimack football staff. He will work primarily with the running backs and special teams for the 2024 season. Blaikie has coached the running backs, offensive line and special teams since arriving at Merrimack in 2021.

Prior to Merrimack, Blaikie was the defensive line coach at Framingham State University from 2018-2020 with fellow Merrimack coaches Aynsley Rosenbaum & Colin Walsh. Blaikie coached a unit that lead the MASCAC in total defense and were 3x MASCAC Champions, led by current Seattle Seahawks LB Joshua Onujiogu.

In 2017, Blaikie served as the Defensive Coordinator & Special Teams Coordinator at Pope John High School (Everett, MA). From 2012-2016, Blaikie coached at Saint Clement High School with fellow Merrimack coach Colin Walsh. During this time, the Anchormen were 2x CCL Champs and EMASS Champs in 2012. Blaikie coached multiple scholarship athletes including current BC Lions (CFL) OT & Miami Dolphin 2021 draft pick Larnel Coleman (UMass), DB Ivan Mertilus (Assumption), WR Junior Oyaronbi (Assumption) and 2012 ESPN Boston All State selection Khaneil Bruce (New Haven).

Prior to his active-duty enlistment in 2004, Blaikie led all Framingham State University TE’s in receptions and yards. He also led the team in KOR avg. Blaikie served two tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004-2008 and has been a Boston Firefighter Since 2010.
