David Breen enters his first season as video coordinator on the men's ice hockey coaching staff in 2017-18. He oversees all video breakdown, analysis and works with the coaching staff on analytical breakdown, as well.

Breen returns to North Andover after spending two years at Merrimack as a player in the early 2000s. He appeared in 34 games over those two seasons, recording two goals over that span. Breen was a two-time member of the Hockey East All-Academic Team and earned Top Scholar-Athlete honors in 2002-03, as well. Breen also played one season at Trinity College.

Before his return to Merrimack, Breen spent the 2016-17 season serving as volunteer assistant coach at Bentley University, where his primary responsibilities were player development and analytics.

Prior to Bentley, Breen was an assistant coach at Curry College for three years. At Curry, his on-ice responsibilities included working with the forwards, overall player development and the team's power play units, along with bench management responsibilities such as tracking the team's lines and analysis of match-ups. His off-ice duties consisted of opponent scouting, team and individual analytics, and player recruiting.

Breen lives in Brookline and currently works full-time as the Program Director for Micro Ice Training Centers of America, a small ice hockey training facility in North Andover.
