Peter Burke Headshot

Peter Burke

Peter Burke begins his first season at Merrimack College in September 2021 as an assistant coach for the men’s lacrosse team.

Burke previously served as the head men’s lacrosse coach at Holy Cross after he assumed the position in 2018. He took charge of the team halfway through a down season in 2018 and was able to win three of the last five games. Before Burke took charge, the Crusaders had a 1-7 mark.

In 2019 he coached his team to victory over some major out of conference opponents such as Harvard and Brown. Burke was also able to find success in the Patriot league as his team defeated Navy, Colgate, Lafayette, and Lehigh. Four of his players earned all-Patriot League honors including the programs only first team selection. Four of Burke’s players would go on to be drafted to play professional lacrosse in both the MLL as well as the PLL.

The New England Lacrosse Journal also named him coach of the year in 2019.
