Mike Allen enters his 16th season serving as Asst. Men's Soccer Coach for Merrimack in 2019, investing over a decade of coaching prowess to the Warriors.

During the 2019 season Allen helped the Warriors capture their first Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season title.  Allen coached three all-region selections, an All-American and was a part of the 2019 Northeast Conference coaching staff of the year.

The 2014 season was one of the best ever for the Warriors, as Allen contributed to a team that advanced to the East Region Final of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, and in the process, hosted an NCAA Tournament game for the first time ever. The Warriors won 15 games, tying the second most wins ever for a single season.

He was also part of two other recent successful years, in 2012 and 2015, that saw Merrimack post indentical 15-4-2 seasons and advance to the NCAA Tournament Second Round. Those 15 wins tied for the second-most ever in a single season for the Warriors. Allen has coached three All-Americans in his time with the Warriors, including his most recent, Julio Leon Garcia, in the 2015 campaign.

Allen's success stems from his playing days as an all-division player at Bishop Hendricken in Warwick, R.I. He walked onto the University of Connecticut men's soccer team in 1998, helping the Huskies win the Big East regular season title in 1999 and capture the Big East Tournament title and a berth into the College Cup Final Four in 2000.

Upon graduation from UConn, Allen spent one season with the PDL Rhode Island Stingrays and has played on various amateur teams in the region with the BSSL and MSSL, now playing in the NH Soccer Conference.

Allen maintains both his NSCAA National Diploma and Advanced National Diploma for coaching, while also coaching youth for the local Timberlane Soccer Club and Match Alert.

Originally a native of Rhode Island, Allen works with The 3M Company as a Traffic Safety Specialist and currently resides in Atkinson, NH, with his wife Shannon and sons Jude and Levi.
