Chris Chiang wrapped up his third season serving as the Assistant Men's Tennis Coach at Merrimack in 2019.

Chiang helped guide to program to yet another NCAA Tournament berth, the third while he has been on staff and the program's 12 straight overall. He assisted Merrimack to a 17-win season in 2018-19, the second most wins in a single campaign in school history. Chiang guided six Warriors to all-conference seasons, including all three of the Warriors' doubles pairings on the all-league second team.  

The assistant helped guide the Warriors to their 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid in 2018, including the second under his watch. The assistant saw five members of Merrimack's six-player lineup earn Northeast-10 All-Conference recognition including first-team accolades for a quartet of Warriors. Chiang saw seniors Mikhail Belov and Frank Vega end their careers with other 100 career wins, becoming the sixth and seventh players since 2007 to reach the century mark. 

Chiang is USPTA certified, USTA rated 5.0 and was ranked the No. 1 player in New England (35+) in 2015 and 2016. He currently is the tennis pro at Cedardale Athletic Club, Northeast Tennis and Newburyport Tennis Club. Collegiately, he played for the tennis program at the University of Miami (FL) from 1993-95 and served as team captain during his senior year. 

A medical and real estate professional, Chiang currently resides in Methuen, Mass., and earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Miami.Â
