Claudio Buratti joined the Merrimack College women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in June 2025. A native of Rome, Italy, Buratti brings a strong international coaching background to the Warriors’ program as they continue to compete in the MAAC.
Before Merrimack, Buratti served as an assistant coach with the Tufts University men’s basketball program during the 2024–25 season. There, he played a key role in player development, scouting, and recruiting as the Jumbos posted a 22–6 record and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament Round of 32. He previously coached at Eastern Nazarene College (NCAA Division III), where he also served as the junior varsity co-head coach and managed recruiting, scouting, and social media management.
Internationally, Buratti spent multiple seasons with the renowned Stella Azzurra Basketball Academy in Rome, Italy, working with the U16, U17, and U19 teams while serving as a head and assistant coach, and video coordinator. During his time with the program, Stella Azzurra captured multiple national titles, including the 17U and 19U Italian championships in 2023. He also coached with Pallacanestro Smit Roma Centro at both youth and senior levels, including Italy’s Serie C Gold.
Buratti holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Entrepreneurship from John Cabot University and earned his master’s degree in Business and Management at Eastern Nazarene College.
