Heather Hanjack

Heather Hanjack is in her eighth year at Merrimack College and third as Head Athletic Trainer. She was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer prior to the 2015-16 academic year.

Hanjack spent the previous six as assistant athletic trainer at Merrimack after joining the athletic training staff in August 2010. She is a 2007 graduate of Merrimack and returned to her alma mater after earning a Masters of Education Administration degree from Boston College in May 2010.

Prior to her return to North Andover, Hanjack was a resident assistant athletic trainer at Boston College. Hanjack's responsibilities included assist in providing athletic training for the Eagles’ volleyball, women’s hockey and spring football teams. She also facilitated weekly drug testing and monitored Doctors’ clinics.

Before her time at Boston College, Hanjack served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the New England Riptide of the National Pro Fastpitch softball league. She also served as a Departmental Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Massachusetts where she worked closely with the men’s and women’s lacrosse and softball teams. At UMass, Hanjack also advised Exercise Physiology interns on the athletic training profession.

While an undergraduate student at Merrimack, Hanjack earned clinical experience with the Warriors’ men’s and women’s basketball, spring football and women’s lacrosse teams. She also assisted the team physician with injury clinics as well as establishing and implementing a variety of rehabilitation programs.

Hanjack has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association since 2005 and holds athletic training licenses in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Hanjack is a native of Wakefield, Rhode Island.
