After a 20-20 performance in another dominant effort, senior Denia Davis-Stewart has been named Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week.

Davis-Stewart was named Northeast Conference Player of the Week for her performance in Merrimack's double-digit win over Vermont, the team's NEC-leading eighth win of the season. 

Davis-Stewart has earned NEC Player of the Week honors three times so far this season.  On Sunday afternoon she scored 21 points and pulled in 22 rebounds on her way to the first 20-20 game of the season for Merrimack. She finished the game with only five fewer rebounds than Vermont's entire lineup.  In addition, she also had five blocks on the afternoon.  Davis-Stewart heads into the new year one of nine Division I players with eight double-doubles this season.  She was also named College Sports Madness' NEC Player of the Week.

This season is no surprise for anyone who has been following the career of Davis-Stewart.  She is averaging 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 blocks this year.  Heading into conference play she only needs 53 points and 125 rebounds to become the second player in Merrimack College history to accomplish the 1,000 point and 1,000 rebound feat.

Merrimack heads into conference play full steam ahead after winning back-to-back games over UMass Lowell and Vermont.  The Warriors open up the new year on Thursday, January 2^nd when they travel to Sacred Heart to take on the Pioneers.  Game time is set for 5 p.m.
